If you’ve got a lot of holes to dig for a fence or something else, a post hole digger will be the most effective way for you to get the job done. If you are just planning on using it once for a big project, renting a post hole digger will be a whole lot faster than digging the holes by hand. Here is what you need to do once you get the equipment:
Know where you are going to dig the holes
Before you begin, mark off the center of each hole that you want to dig. This will make the process a whole lot more efficient.
Can you dig it?
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, lift the digger up and drop it into the spot where you want it with the auger portion running. Slowly let the auger dig in and when you reach the depth you want, pull it back up and repeat in you next location.
Stay safe
Remember to keep your feet well away from the auger portion of the digger. Also, if you can’t properly lift the machine straight up, consider a smaller model.
